This meeting will have a brief business meeting, a time of worship, and a keynote presentation by Rabbi Brian Mayer. MOTHER’S DAY LUNCH AT MOBY DICK’S
The time has come once again! On Sunday May 10th, we will once again be gathering at Moby Dick’s restaurant for a Mother’s Day lunch. Folks are invited to make their way to the restaurant following worship and to enjoy a time of food and fellowship. No signup required: simply place your order at the counter and make your way to the seating area at the rear of the restaurant. And, be sure to say hello to Todd and Migs!
A CALENDAR SUPPER THANK YOU
I wanted to pass along my appreciation to everyone who participated in making our 2nd Calendar Supper a great success. It was wonderful to have so many community members here for a fun evening that celebrated a cherished tradition from the past and supported the church at the same time.
It took a lot of volunteers to pull it off...the kitchen staff preparing our delicious dinner, the Table Hosts decorating and serving their tables, as well as baking desserts, the office staff handling ticket sales and the “behind the scenes” helpers. We had several charitable people donate money to this fundraiser, even though they weren’t attending. And last but not least, our thanks go out too many generous donors for their kindness: Moby Dicks, Friends’ Marketplace, Shaw’s, Wellfleet Marketplace, Stop & Shop and BJ’s.

2026 CAPE COD HUNGER WALK
This is the seventh year that we are holding a CROP Hunger Walk. The money we raise supports local food pantries and the work of Church World Service.
Let me introduce you to Victorine. Victorine overcame years of conflict-related hardship and food insecurity by rebuilding her livelihood with the support of Church World Service. She lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo where she lived through the Kamwina Nsapu conflict losing both her husband and her brother. She was left alone with her nine children and her brother’s five children. When she returned home to damaged crops and abandoned fields hunger took hold quickly. Malnutrition left her feeling overwhelmed.
With the help of Church World Service and Alongside Hope she was able to buy enough food for her children. She received seeds from CWS and began growing her own food. She joined other women working in one another’s fields. With part of her assistance, she was able to clear a large field and grow more crops to ensure a stable food supply.
Her household now enjoys sufficient and diverse food. With her strength restored, Victorine now participates actively in community life and her children are back in school. Victorine’s journey shows that even in the hardest moments, hope can grow again with the right support.
This is just one story that shows how the work of Church World Service brings hope and transformation to communities around the world. Please consider supporting our CROP Hunger Walk. With your help we can truly change the world.
